Persian carpets are one of the essential home decorations. Without these carpets, house interiors can look incomplete or lack of dimension. It can be compared to applying makeup without adding foundation which is crucial for a complete look.

Persian carpets have a long history dated back from 2,500 years ago. They are one of the finest carpets and what makes them renown globally are the unique patterns, intricate designs and vibrant colours. They portray cultures and way of life of Persia as they are hand made by skilled craftsmanship captivating and mesmerising all eyes that get to see these carpets. Persian carpets are known to be ageless and the longer they are kept, the valuable they are similar to paintings painted by influential figures.

Back in the old days, Persian carpets were only used by Persians to remain warm during the winter. However, due to the wool quality that is thick and soft together with the craftsmanship that is unique creating outstanding patterns and designs leading Persian Carpets to become well known among other countries. Persian Carpets also depict social classes where the elites collect and own these carpets to portray their status. It was until the Golden Age of Persia where trading and commerce were widely performed, Persian rugs became known globally. Nevertheless, there were still developments in weaving Persian rugs from patterns, techniques and raw materials used have become advanced increasing the value of Persian Carpets for example, nowadays, silk is used with wool in order to create a shiny surface while remaining the soft touches of the carpet adding to the quality, value and the price of Persian Carpets.

When speaking of Persian Carpets, traditional craftsmanship cannot be overlooked. The skills and techniques were passed on from generations to generations through songs, lyrics and poems of traditional Persian culture. This was not only performed within Persia but also other countries such as, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey and India especially in Cashmere Region. Different countries depict their own cultures, uniqueness, weaving techniques, patterns, designs and colours leading to the popularity of different styles of carpets unique to each country.
